Part of it is, for good. Every subject gives you one complete Paper 1 — the ZIMSEC specimen wherever there is one — one Paper 2 to read so you can see how the written half is marked, one complete topic of notes, and the flashcards on it. The Readiness Check is free too, with its answers and explanations. What a subscription opens is the rest of the notes and papers, and the answer and reason on every question.

US$5 a month, or US$45 for the year — a launch price; the usual monthly is US$10. One subscription covers your whole household: every child, and Grades 5, 6 and 7. You do not pay again per child.

Sign in, choose Monthly or Full year on the pricing page, and send the money by EcoCash to 0777839950. Then type the reference from your confirmation SMS into the app. Your child gets access straight away while we check it against the statement — usually the same day. There is no card form and nothing is stored; the money never passes through Pasa 7.

Not to read the free notes, sit the free papers or take the Readiness Check. You need one to keep a score, to see the full Readiness result, and to do the daily test — because all three have to remember your child between one day and the next.

No, and nobody has them. ZIMSEC does not release Grade 7 past papers. What ZIMSEC does publish is a specimen paper per subject, showing the exact shape of the examination — those are here in full, free, and marked. The rest are practice papers written to the ZIMSEC syllabus. Every paper says which it is on its own cover; we never date a specimen as though it were a sitting.

Seven subjects: English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Science, Shona, Ndebele, and Physical Education and Arts. Notes cover Grades 5, 6 and 7; the papers and the Readiness Check are Grade 7, because ZIMSEC sets no examination below it. The Readiness Check covers every subject except Ndebele, where the question bank is still being written.

Forty questions across the five things Paper 1 actually examines in a subject. At the end it tells you which areas your child is weak in, and which lessons cover them. It takes about ten minutes, needs no account, and it is the honest answer to “how ready is my child” — which is a different question from “what mark did they get”.

Your child does, against the examiner's list of acceptable answers, shown one part at a time with the marks each part carries. Paper 2 is written answers, so no app can mark it automatically without pretending to a judgement it cannot make. Doing it this way is also how a pupil learns what an examiner is actually looking for.

Yes. Notes and papers are downloaded once and kept on the phone, so opening the same lesson again costs nothing. The app re-downloads a subject only when we change it.

Please tell us — there is a “Does this answer or explanation look wrong?” link under every marked question, and it takes one tap. A person reads every report. Some of our papers were typed from printed originals, so a mistake is entirely possible, and we would much rather hear it than have your child learn it.
